One Saturday in early October. Three teams (Korea + two international guests) fire over the Han River from Yeouido. Crowds arrive 4pm for an 8pm show. Avoid Yeouinaru station after. the Banpo + Mapo bridges are walkable alternatives back.

Haneul Park New Year Sunrise JAN 1 · In 5 months
New Year sunrise with 360° city view from a former landfill turned park.
Haneul Park sits on top of a former landfill mountain. the highest natural point in central-west Seoul. New Year sunrise from here covers the whole skyline. 5am start to climb in the dark; warm clothing, gloves, hand-warmers.

Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival APR 4-12
Seoul's most-photographed cherry blossom street, closed to cars.
A one-week stretch when Yunjung-ro behind the National Assembly turns into a 1.7km tunnel of cherry blossom. Closed to traffic, illuminated until 10pm, food trucks line the river side. Peak bloom usually April 5-9. check VisitSeoul a few days before.
Lotus Lantern Festival MAY 15-17
UNESCO-listed Buddhist parade that lights up the entire downtown.
Centred on Buddha's Birthday. Friday night lotus lantern parade marches from Dongguk Univ to Jonggak with thousands of paper lanterns. Saturday street festival around Jogyesa Temple with traditional craft + tea + free vegetarian temple food.
Seoul Jazz Festival MAY 23-25
Asia's biggest jazz festival, world-class international lineup.
Three days of jazz, soul, and adjacent genres across multiple Olympic Park stages. Past headliners include Jamiroquai, John Mayer, Norah Jones. Tickets sell out 1-2 months out. check May 1 onwards.
