OOTD

OOTD, packed light

By season

Spring March - May

Cherry blossom in early April. Cool mornings (8°C), warm afternoons (18°C).

The trickiest packing season, bring layers.

Pack
  • Light trench or denim jacket
  • Long-sleeve tee + cardigan
  • Sneakers (lots of walking)
  • Sunglasses (UV is high)
  • Light scarf for early-April peak
Skip
  • Heavy down (still in Mar but useless by mid-Apr)
  • Open sandals (April rains start week 3)
Summer June - August

Humid + hot (28-32°C peak). July is monsoon: ~3 weeks of solid rain.

UV is intense. AC is everywhere, slightly chilly indoors.

Pack
  • Linen shirts + breathable tees
  • Wide-brim hat or cap
  • Sunscreen (Korean ones are world-class)
  • Compact umbrella
  • Light cardigan for AC indoors
Skip
  • Heavy denim
  • Synthetic fabrics (sweat-trap)
  • Suede (monsoon ruins it)
Autumn September - November

The best season, hands down. Crisp dry days (20°C), foliage peak in late Oct.

Locals' favorite. Visually photogenic.

Pack
  • Knit sweaters + cardigans
  • Lightweight trench or wool coat (Nov)
  • Boots, ankle or Chelsea
  • Scarf
  • Beanie by mid-Nov
Skip
  • Anything sleeveless after late Sep
Winter December - February

Cold and dry (-5 to 5°C). Wind-chill makes it feel colder.

Snow is occasional. Heating is everywhere, dress in layers you can shed.

Pack
  • Down jacket or wool coat
  • Thermal base layer (Korean Uniqlo Heattech)
  • Beanie + gloves
  • Thick socks
  • Insulated boots
Skip
  • Open-toe anything
  • Cotton-only base layers (cold)
