Korea Tour Card in Seoul 2026

₩4,000

T-money with discounts at attractions, shows, and duty-free. Worth it if you hit COEX Aquarium, Lotte World, or N Seoul Tower.

Korea Tour Card is a T-money variant specifically designed for foreign visitors. The base functionality is identical to a regular T-money card (works on subway, bus, taxi, convenience stores). The differentiator is a bundled discount programme at major Korean attractions, performance venues, duty-free stores, and selected restaurants. The card costs ₩4,000 (slightly above a base T-money) and is purchased at convenience stores inside Incheon and Gimpo airports, AREX counters, and tourist information centers.

The discount list covers most of the high-traffic tourist attractions: COEX Aquarium, Lotte World, N Seoul Tower, Everland, Seoul Sky observation deck, Trick Eye Museum, Nanta performance, Bibap performance, and several K-beauty / duty-free chains. Discounts range from 5% to 30% depending on the venue, redeemed by showing the card at the ticket counter or checkout. The Korea Tour Card website publishes the full venue list in English and Japanese.

Two cautions for visitors. First, the card is only worth the ₩4,000 premium if you actually visit 2 or more of the discounted venues - a visitor focused on neighborhoods (Bukchon, Ikseon-dong, Seongsu) and food (markets, restaurants) likely gets little discount value and is better served by a regular T-money. Second, the discount list rotates; check the official Korea Tour Card site for current participating venues before assuming a specific attraction is covered.

Where to buy

  • Convenience stores inside Incheon Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Gimpo Airport.
  • AREX (Airport Railroad Express) counters.
  • Tourist information centers (Myeongdong, Hongdae, Seoul Station, Insadong, Itaewon).
  • Selected duty-free store counters (Lotte, Shilla).

How to load

  1. Tap or hand to the cashier at any convenience store or subway-station kiosk.
  2. Insert cash (₩1,000 / ₩5,000 / ₩10,000) or pay by foreign card at 2026-upgraded kiosks.
  3. Same load mechanic as a regular T-money - the discount features do not change reload flow.

How to use

  1. Transit: tap on subway, bus, taxi - identical to T-money.
  2. Discount: show the card (not the receipt) at the ticket counter or checkout of a participating venue. Some venues require the card to be scanned by their POS.
  3. Card has a printed list of major venues on the sleeve at purchase; the full and updated list is on the Korea Tour Card official site.

Refund flow at trip end

Refund of unused balance follows the standard T-money flow: under ₩20,000 at any GS25 / CU with a ₩500 fee, ₩20,000+ at the airport T-money counter. The card itself is non-refundable. The ₩4,000 premium over a regular T-money is sunk cost if you did not use the discount feature.

Pre-arrival pickup

Korea Tour Card is also available on Klook with airport-pickup vouchers. Useful if you want it reserved before your flight and skip the counter queue at Incheon.

Pros

  • 5-30% discounts at major tourist attractions (COEX Aquarium, Lotte World, N Seoul Tower, Everland, Seoul Sky).
  • Same transit functionality as regular T-money.
  • Easy to purchase at the airport on arrival.
  • Discount list is publicly published, so visitors can plan ahead.

Cons

  • ₩4,000 vs T-money baseline only pays off if you visit 2+ discounted venues.
  • Discount list rotates - check the current list before assuming coverage.
  • No discount on neighborhood walks, food markets, or independent shops (the actual high-density Seoul experience).
  • Same refund flow + non-refundable card as T-money.

Best for

Tourist-attraction-heavy itineraries with stops at COEX, Lotte World, N Seoul Tower, or Everland.

vs the other cards

Pick Korea Tour Card over T-money if you plan to visit 2+ of the discount venues. Pick T-money if your trip is neighborhood-led (Bukchon, Ikseon-dong, Seongsu, Hongdae nightlife) without major attraction stops. Pick Climate Card over Korea Tour Card if you ride 4+ times a day; you can still use a separate Korea Tour Card just for the attraction discount.
